 It is being reported that Biden is proposing to offer 11 million illegal immigrants citizenship, which is likely to significantly shift future voting in favour of the Democrats, not to mention potential financial implications and ongoing border control issues. Planned executive actions also include undoing the Trump travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries. Biden has also put forward a $1.9 Trillion debt-financed package. Given that US debt is currently approximately $23 Trillion, an additional $1.9 Trillion badged as a COVID rescue package is not significant. Biden is also seeking the increase of the minimum wage to $15/week.

According to CNN, Biden has also elevated the White House science post to a cabinet-level position. The reality is that on most modern areas of scientific discovery there are almost as many opinions as scientists. As such, it appears that Biden is intending to use Science as a bludgeon, whereby he selects the Scientists who support his political approach and then forbids any dissent because it is "against the science".

Biden is planning to extend nationwide restrictions on evictions and foreclosures. Extending this type of protection to foreclosures is a vital part of any protection as Landlords who are not receiving rent may well not be able to pay the mortgage either. Careful consideration is going to need to be given to who this gets undone at the end of the freeze so that the suspended evictions and foreclosures are not just deferred eventualities waiting to happen.

For those who wish to ensure they are able to follow the new @POTUS account post-inauguration, Biden has created an @PresElectBiden Twitter handle which he claims will be converted to the @POTUS account when he is inaugurated.

The volume of misinformation is astounding and rather frustrating, making it difficult to determine exactly what is and is not reliable information. This is a major failure of the fourth estate which needs to focus on producing reliable objective information to allow consumers to make up their own minds, rather than the hysterical opionated propaganda that is often being pushed as journalism/news.

NSW Politics The Liberal Party has elected Dominic Perrottet as the new leader with Stuart Ayres as his deputy. Perrottet has foreshadowed some changes to the health orders, but has refused to be drawn on any specifics until after he has met with the health team and the Health Minister. COVID Victoria has recorded 1763 cases, reportedly the highest of any Australian jurisdiction. This seems to clearly demonstrate that Andrews', the Victorian Premier's, criticism of the NSW government for not locking down early and hard were misplaced. Given that hard and fast lockdowns do not work with the Delta variant, surely there needs to be a reanalysis of the risk profile as to what effect and benefit any health orders may have. NSW is currently scheduled to 're-open' to vaccinated people on Monday 11 October. Draft health orders have been released for that date.  One of the great travesties of modern politics is the failure of the fourth estate (the media) to objectively provide information which informs the reader who can then determine their own perspective. This failure by the fourth estate has significantly escalated the tensions around the election result and, when combined with the partisan coverage of the earlier BLM protests and exclusion zones, has significantly contributed to the inflamed tensions within the American people. Although it is easy to blame Trump, for today's invasion of the Capitol building, like most things, it is never that straight forward and the fourth estate has a lot to answer for.  Biden has demanded Trump appear on national television demanding the mob leave the capital.
