A new political party to watch in the next round of elections will be The New Liberals who are currently in a fight with the Austarlian Electoral Commission AEC) as to the legitimacy of their name which is allegedly being opposed by the Liberal Party. The New Liberals seem to be anything but liberal with one of the founders making it quite clear on Twitter that their intention is to get rid of the current Liberal/National government. They apparently are only going to run candidates in Liberal or National held seats and will not compete against the Australian Labor Party (ALP). Their policy statements, available on their website, seem very much on the left side of politics. Australia has cancelled the V...

COVID : South Australia closes the border to Greater Melbourne as additional cases confirmed from the Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn which has now been evacuated. Victorian travels to South Australia from regional Victoria are subject to testing and initial self-isolation requirements.[abc news] Queensland reinstating border declaration passes for Victorians with the exclusion of those who have been at an exposure site [The Age]. The ACT government is replacing stamp duty with land tax , something the NSW government is also considering in an opt-in model. This is part of the #socialist agenda to undermine private property ownership. Although it may sound good in theory, land tax is generally something that is paid as part of the initial purchase. There after you can live in your home. With land tax you have to pay land tax, which will increase over time, every year ...
