The Trump impeachment trial begins. Despite the constitutional requirement for the impeachment trial to be presided over by the Chief Justice, a Democrat is instead presiding over the trial, further casting into doubt its constitutionality.
Myanmar General says that there will be fresh elections after claiming that the previous elections were fraudulent.
Unsurprisingly, WHO investigators have decided that a lab in Wuhan was not the source of the virus after all and that maybe it did not even originate in China.
Facebook and Instagram decide to enhance banning of what they designate as conspiracy theories. Interestingly, for instance, hydroxychloroquine was deemed a conspiracy theory, until the WHO changed their mind. The British Medical Journal has recently accused the UK government of cherry picking the science and politicising science in their pursuit of a single narrative. Hunter Biden's laptop, the Democratrs screeched, was a conspiracy theory until after the election when they admitted that maybe there was something to the story after all. The problem with 'conspiracy theory' is that generally it is just a euphemism for anything that the person making the decision disagrees with. This is a dangerous precedent by Facebook. Companies that purport to provide public communication access should be subject to limitations on the restriction of free speech.
In a similar vein, it is being reported that the Democrats have passed a bill that would prevent anyone accused of spreading 'conspiracy theories' from working for the the government in any capacity.
